Right Place, Right Time
Last year, Merryl Hoffman was on her way to work when she collapsed outside a health care center near her subway stop — the result of sudden cardiac arrest. In an incredible twist of fate, two nurses happened to be nearby and sprang into action, ultimately saving the 63-year-old’s life.
“It was out of a movie,” said Gianna Formisano, one of the nurses who helped.
The three have since formed a special bond. They even went out to dinner together, and just recently, they crossed paths again in the very same spot.

From Everest to Lifesaving Impact—In Just 3 Weeks 🏔️❤️
When David Sullivan set out to install a defibrillator near Mount Everest, he hoped it might one day save a life. He didn’t expect that day to come just three weeks later.
The 62-year-old founder of Code Blue CPR, an organization dedicated to teaching CPR and installing lifesaving defibrillators across England, lost four close friends—none older than 45—to sudden cardiac arrest. That personal tragedy sparked his mission to improve survival rates worldwide.
Earlier this year, Sullivan traveled to the Himalayas and installed what he believes is the world’s highest defibrillator, over 16,500 feet above sea level near Everest Base Camp. He even tested the device at an altitude of 22,000 feet.
And then, just three weeks after returning to the UK, he received word: a woman’s life had been saved when her heart stopped at high altitude—the defibrillator had done precisely what it was meant to do.
Sullivan’s story is a powerful reminder: access to defibrillators saves lives, regardless of altitude.

The Joy of Aging Adventurously 🌍✨
Who says the best adventures are behind us? For many older adults, the real journey is just beginning—and it might be the secret to a happier, more fulfilling life.
A recent survey from Road Scholar, a nonprofit known for creating educational adventures for seniors, found that a stunning 94% of older adults who “age adventurously” report greater well-being. Many say they feel just as happy in their 50s, 60s, and beyond as they did in their 20s or 30s.
But what exactly does it mean to age adventurously?
For some, it’s about globe-trotting or chasing bucket-list moments—like getting a first tattoo or traveling solo. For others, it’s the smaller, everyday acts of joy: staying active, embracing new experiences, and holding on to a sense of independence. About half of the survey participants said they travel more than their parents did, and most women reported feeling more independent than their mothers ever did.
So, here’s to embracing every chapter—with curiosity, courage, and maybe even a passport in hand. 🧳💫

🫐 National Blueberry Muffin Day – it’s time to celebrate America’s #1 favorite muffin!
Whether you enjoy them fresh from the oven for breakfast or as a sweet midday treat, blueberry muffins are a melt-in-your-mouth delight that never goes out of style. And today, they get the spotlight they deserve.
#BlueberryMuffinDay
While you savor that soft, berry-studded bite, take a moment to appreciate the blueberry itself—a true nutritional powerhouse. Believe it or not, blueberries were once only found in the wild. It wasn’t until the early 1900s that Elizabeth Coleman White and Dr. Frederick V. Coville teamed up to domesticate this wild berry, changing breakfast tables forever.
Thanks to their work, we no longer have to hunt for blueberries in the forest—we just have to head to the kitchen.
So go ahead, treat yourself. Your muffin moment is here. 🫐💙
